Notes About Our Fees

Fees are set by our Board of Directors and increases must be approved at a General Meeting.

A non-refundable registration fee of $50.00 is payable at registration (one per family).

Upon enrolment, parents are asked to provide 4 post-dated cheques in advance. This process is repeated every 4 months.

Fees are to due on or before the first of each month in advance. Fees are assessed on a monthly basis and are due whether your child attends or not.

There are no reductions in fees for having more than one child in our program, sick days or holidays.

Outstanding fees are subject to financial penalties.

The Executive Director of Trent Child Care is responsible for all financial matters.

Fee Subsidy Information

It is possible to receive a subsidy to assist with child care fees. To determine if you qualify for a full or partial subsidy, you must complete a needs assessment. The subsidy program is administered through the City of Peterborough, Children's Services Department (748-8830 x3616) or www.childcare.peterborough.ca. Trent Child Care Inc. then bills the family accordingly.

The Executive Director or Program Supervisor can provide advice for parents regarding the subsidy system.

Temporary/Short-term Withdrawal Policy
(Applies to full-day programs only)

Families who temporarily withdraw from the Centre for a short-term period (8 weeks to 4 months) and wish to return to a reserved child care space, will be asked to pay a holding retainer. This retainer is payable before leaving, is nonrefundable and is not applied to regular fees when your child returns. A holding retainer is required for each space being reserved. The fee is equivalent to 10 days at the current daily fee(s).

Written notice of temporary/short-term withdrawal is required 2 weeks prior to withdrawal. If notice is not received, the family will be responsible for full program fees for 2 weeks after withdrawal. Transfer of care to another Trent program is considered a withdrawal from the current program and 2 weeks notice is required.

Families who temporarily withdraw and do not pay a holding retainer, will not be guaranteed a child care space upon the requested date of return. In such cases, the child's name will be placed on the waiting list and priority will be based on the date of entry on the list.

Families returning to the Centre after an absence of more than 4 months will be required to pay a re-registration fee of $50.00 per family.
